Anna V. ![]() Lochlin - 3.75 YO When my wife and I reached out looking for help with our son Lochlin , we were both at our wits ends with him and the battle to go to bed and sleep every night. Both of us dreaded the night time routine that we had fallen into , the screaming and yelling and fighting had drained both of us down and made night time a not enjoyable time in our house. When we did reach out to Erin we were both a loss as how to deal with Lochlin. He was the perfect sleeper from 8 weeks old until 4.5 years old then suddenly developed sleep issues. We were initially concerned about hiring a Sleep Consultant due to my sons age (10 weeks), we were concerned that he was too young, and the recommendations would be too strict. I was also worried that maybe I wouldn’t have the emotional fortitude to implement the recommendations. But once we started working with Erin she put our concerns at ease. Right from the beginning she explained to us that this would be a rollercoaster and reminded us of this throughout our time together. She is a Mom herself and has been through this with her own children. Her stepwise approach works to gradually build the baby’s skills, as well as the skills of the parents. She offers straight forward advice, and was always willing and open to meet us where we were at. Erin was always available to ask as many questions as we needed throughout the process. The WhatsApp texting allowed us to get fairly real time answers to questions or concerns as they came up. My little guy now sleeps in his crib, on his own for all of his sleep both during the day and at night! I put Felix down and he falls asleep on his own within 5-10 minutes, and there is very little fussing. When there is fussing I now have the skills to be able to help him settle without panicking. Felix sleeps 10 to 12 hours every night, along with 3 to 4 hours of daytime sleep. We are now a well-rested happy family, and are able to enjoy our time together!! I would recommend Erin to any parents who are struggling with sleep. I believe that quality sleep for parents and babies is invaluable for mental health, enjoyment, and development. Both my husband and I are really enjoying the experience of being new parents, even during a global pandemic, and I believe a large part of that is because the whole family is well rested. As first-time (twin!!) parents everything was overwhelming. "My newborn did not like to go to sleep he would fight it for hours. I could sometimes feed him to sleep wait for him to go into a deep sleep than transfer him but that was hit and miss. All my friend's newborns were great sleepers and I was scared to try sleep training so early. Erin gave me the confidence and assurance that I needed to do gentle sleep training at 2 months. I had fallen into the trap of either nursing or rocking her to sleep, but really no one in the house was actually getting any sleep. Once they were asleep, our 3 year would come into our room several times a night. No one was sleeping. Our 3 year old was often cranky during the day. Knowing that Erin came highly recommended and was someone in our community made the decision very easy. I like how she was completely understanding and acknowledged our problems. I also appreciated how she had a quick and simple answer to all of our questions. EVERYONE is able to get the sleep that we need. We know that we can put her down for the night and that will put herself to sleep. It usually takes about 5 minutes, during which she coos herself asleep (I like to think that she is signing herself a lullaby). We also have a more consistent and predictable nap schedule, which helps us in so many ways. And to top it all off, my husband and I are able to spend time together in the evenings without the baby; which is allowing us to feel more like ourselves. We also know that we can leave in the evenings, and that our baby won’t wake up, and if she does, she can put herself back to sleep without our help. 100% no questions asked. I would recommend anyone who thinks: “I never knew I could be this tired with a baby.” It’s so easy to think “this is normal, it will pass, it’s just a phase” but it’s not. "I seriously doubted that this would work; I was absolutely convinced Mackenzie was just one of those babies who didn't sleep. I hesitated to spend the money, but honestly, it was so worth it! When you told me at the start she would be sleeping 12 hours straight within a few weeks - I laughed. Hard. You clearly didn't "know" my baby - haha! Low and behold, not only do I have a baby that sleeps, she's a champion sleeper!! I'm just glad I didn't make a bet with you - because I'd have lost!
